There will be a end to every passion in life, and to end my blogging I will talk about the end of football. Every player will end there season and this will impact people in a extensive way. Ending a sport is very hard on any athlete, you go from having a normal routine that you love and hate to doing nothing and having a lot of free time. That is not really the bad part of it though. The worst is knowing you may never play with that team again. Over the many years you have been around those people and have gotten to know them will come to a end, and this really hits people hard. You built more than just physical bonds you made emotional bonds through the blood, sweat, and tears shed over many years of hard work together. Football especially builds bond the sport only last during the fall but but there is year-round training and team events hosted to get everyone together. So you really are always with your team in someway if it is through weight lifting, team meals, team bonding, or team meetings you never go that long without seeing your guys.
You put so much time and dedication into football over your years of playing the sport that it becomes more of a lifestyle than just a sport. Football teachers you a lot and gives you a lot of lessons to learn from. This is a aspect I will miss most about football. Practice becomes fun at one point. You build chemistry with your team and you know how to do everything together and so at one point it is like you just have to keep doing repetition to make sure you remember everything and the rest of the time is for fun drills that will also make you better. So there is some fun besides winning a football game. When you have the right team with a great mindset you can turn anything into fun. Fun is what truly matters though. If it was not fun then who would care that the season ended but because there was fun along the journey it sucks that it had to end. When you played with the same guys since you were young you really get to see how far you have come from being uncoordinated little kids to smart men that can hopefully win and celebrate together. There is no better feelings than a Friday night win and celebration after the game. There no better feeling than having a team that has your back and has been with you for years.
Finally It is all about what you started with and ended with. Football impacts communities. A lot of people come out to support football players or player of any sport. There is no better feeling to be on a football field with some of your closest friends knowing you have a community also that is rooting for you. Every game this season my coach said "just look up at the crowd and field and take it all in because this feeling will not always be with you, you seniors will have to end the season at some point so make every second count" and this hit us all differently. Just knowing that a group of teenage guys that throw a ball around and hit people could affect and community and change the energy within stadiums or even outside of stadiums. This is something I will miss for sure. Football was more than just a sport. It built bonds, It brought people together, it kept teams focused, it changed who we were and it will do that for anyone who decides to play. Football was just like family. It had its ups and it had its downs but when adversity was overcame it brought people together and it made lifetime bonds. Football brought happiness. Now, life goes on and a new chapter starts for everyone but what was started through football will never be forgotten.
I didn't play football for very long, but I really wish I played way before high school. The 3 years I played in high school it had such an impact on my life. It got me to be in better shape than I was and got me into working out, staying in shape, and having a better diet. It has also taught me to be more mentally tough and how to be an overall stronger person. I'll miss the team meals and seeing the brothers after school, as well as competing every day with them. My decision to play football was one of the best choices I will ever make.
I have been playing football since 1st grade and it has been one of the biggest impacts in my life. It can teach and offer so much to a person growing up. It can provide you with new friends, new opportunity, and if you really stick with it another family in sorts. I have played with some of the players since 1st grade and I would consider most of them family to me at this point. So it is a tough thing to move on from and stop playing but it has given me so much. I am very thankful for the sport and the people I got to play with.
