Football is for everyone, No matter how big, small, short, tall, skinny, or stout you are you have a position you can play on the football field

.

There are a total of 22 players on the field during a football game. This means there are 22 positions to be played some positions share the same role as others and most positions have very different goals that are to be accomplished to win a football game.

FOOTBALL POSITIONS

First we will start with the quarterback and runningback. These two handle the ball the most in the game. The quarterback is like the coach of the team on the field for the offensive side. The quarterback calls all the plays that a supposed to be run in order for the offense to score a touchdown. Runningbacks stick with the quarter back, runningbacks are used for short yardage situations so the offensive team can pick up a first down and continue their drive down the field.

Next are the offensive linemen, which consists of two guards, two tackles, and a center. The responsibility of linemen are to protect the runningback and quarterback so they can make plays and not get injured. Linemen are usually the bigger boys on the field which is a big advantage. The offensive guards are supposed to pass block or run block, they can move around on run blocks to get there person they are supposed to be blocking. Offensive tackles have the same job. Centers are supposed to snap the ball to the quaterbacks, then they will block from there. Tight Ends are like a hybrid player they are big enough to block but they have enough skills to go out and catch a route from the quaterback. Sometimes you can replace a player like a tight end with a H-Back and they do the same thing as the tight end but they line up off the line of scrimmage behind the linemen instead of on the line like tight ends.

The last offensive positions are receivers. Receivers are farthest from the quarterback and there jobs are a combination of a lot of different skills. Receivers go out to catch the football but they all can run the football if they are handed the ball on a sweep run. Another job they have is to be able to block for outside runs that the runningbacks will do. Receivers can do it all

Now we can move to defense. First we have the defensive line which consist of defensive tight ends, defensive tackle, and defensive nose guard. Together they have the duty of stopping the opposing teams run game. They go head to head with the offensive linemen and runningback. They are usually big guys also so it makes for a great battle between the offensive line and defensive line.

Next we have our linebackers. Linebackers consist of outside and middle linebackers. You can have three, four, or five linebackers. As you play this position you have responsibilities to stop the quarterback and runningback if they try to run and defend the pass if the quarterback tries to throw the ball. Linebackers are an extra layer of protection they are there to fill in holes in the defense and guard open field so no easy passes are thrown

Then you have your cornerbacks and safeties. Their job is to guard the receivers, tight ends, and runningbacks. Anyone on the offense that will be going out for a route needs to have a corner or safety in them. Corners and safeties stay locked on their person to make sure they can not get the ball thrown to them or make any advances to get a first down.

Lastly you have the Kickers which is a offensive and defensive position. Kickers usually have no responsibility but to kick field goal extra points or kick the ball to the other team after a touchdown or turn over on downs. The kicker has a pretty simple task but it is very much just as important as any of the other jobs.
